(26,366 posts)As Zuckerberg mentioned the real problem is that these platforms are highly automated and so actual
people never get involved in seeing and or approving these ads before they air. Automation saves a
tremendous amount of money but as you see it can result in unintended consequences that are only
found after the fact. Note that a similar thing happened to Google with their marketing of ads via
targeted keywords recently.
It's unlikely the people running Facebook were colluding with Russia to destroy Clinton's campaign,
the Chief Operating Officer of Facebook (the person that runs things on a day to day basis) is a
"personal friend" of Hillary Clinton and was giving her advice concerning her campaign. The tech
industry in California is not at all pro-Trump.

(26,507 posts)is that fake news or legitimate?
Is it is real - wouldn't that tip them off that it was Russian based ads?

So all bullshit to me, seems like everything else about this nightmare, when asked a question they lie, pretty disgusting when they come right out and say "trust me".
Sorry but it won't work.

As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
