when I was in class. Infact, I don't remember being taught anything about the Suffragettes.

Helena Bonham-Carter and Meryl Streep. Emily was played by Natalie Press. It was such a shocking scene.

I had no idea until I watched that film what these women went through to secure the vote for women. They were so incredibly brave and determined. Today, when I hear these millennial women say "I'm not a feminist" or "I'm not into politics" I just want to scream! They have no idea what women before them went through so that they could have the freedoms that they enjoy today.

available on youtube). and, of course, "Iron-Jawed Angels" about the US Suffrage movement. the assaults, the brutality, the forced feeding, the contempt these women endured to gain such a basic right.

and we have people here (pukes, natch) demanding that the 19th be repealed. and they are not shouted off the stage, nor pelted with rotting vegetative matter when they do so.

a requirement for young people to show them what women had to go through for basic human rights. Boys and men should see it too.
