has everything to do with the number of murders, police officers killed, and alleged perpetrators killed. The first thing most Police Officers grab for is their gun, not a taser, not a baton, not pepper spray.....their gun. Guns are so pervasive in this country nearly everyone has at least one gun of some sort. And thanks to the NRA, there can't be the slightest gun control law even presented to Congress.
That's where the U.K. has it all over the U.S. That's where most countries have it over the us. I.M.O. the second amendment was created to permit citizens to possess rifles for hunting and a well regulated militia. The founding fathers had no way of knowing how crazy people would become about guns, and how weapons technology would put mass lethal force into everyone's hands. I don't believe that's what they would agree with, if they were alive today.
Here's to the U.K. and most other countries in the world 
for having sensible gun laws, while here is the U.S. it's the wild, wild west in just about every state, and life has become so very cheap to so many people.
