just like they do with many other comedians today. They'd brand him as un-American, a "leftist", a communist sympathizer, a drug addled fool, and many of the other choice descriptions they give to people they don't understand. Carlin wouldn't stand for it though. He'd give it back to them just as good or better than they gave it to him. He was no weak-kneed liberal.

If an Italian was anti-pasta, they wouldn't call him "Un-Italian". If a Canadian doesn't like snow or hockey, they don't call him "Un-Canadian". Where did this "Un-American" meme come from?

when they "branded" American patriotism and claimed it as their own. Now they won't let anyone else claim to be a "real American" without paying royalty fees.
