Quit laughing, I'm serious.

Europeans (and Americans of European ancestry) tend to bend from the waist. People from Africa and Asia bend from the hip. I've tried it both ways and I find that it's a lot easier on the back and less tiring to bend from the hip.

It's just fascinating. This would have never had occurred to me that people may have walked differently. We were having fun with this at work this past weekend trying to walk this way after I told colleagues about this.
