I think you could make an argument that there has been a dramatic decline in the intelligence of republican presidents starting with gerald ford.

Think about it: ford, reagan, ghw bush, then gw bush.

I certainly don't think any of these were smarter than me, let alone andy borowitz. and certainly gw bush was an idiot, and absolutely unfit for office--smarter than palin and trump, but we can agree how little that means.
