I was part owner of a Latin Night Club in the Bay Area.

I booked her father for a special show at our little club knowing it probably wouldn't make money for the club (Pete cost a bunch, advertising, extra security, etc).

Anyway, the whole Escoveda family showed up... Pete, Sheila E., and Peter Michael.

It was awesome. Loved the way she and her brother would trade off playing the bongos in the middle of a drum riff, coordinated tag team.

However, backstage, one of the roadies asked if I had any "coke" for the Escovedas and was sad that I didn't have any (not really sure it was for them anyway).
