refine the cultural connections required for brainwashing people who have the power to switch to another station.

Usually, in classic brainwashing you have total physical control of the subject.

I believe what we have now is a continuing program started during the Soviet era.

when Joe Pyne started his TV show. Seemed like the only guests against Vietnam were hippies. Bob Grant was on radio in the seventies but he blossomed during the Reagan years. I wouldn't be surprised if both Pyne and Grant were in cahoots with the Russians, while playing like all Americans.
