Repulsive Republican Campaign ad creates a Firestorm in Illinois

CHICAGO — A new ad that’s been denounced as anti-immigrant, “racist,” “sexist” and “transphobic,” is causing an uproar in Illinois, with leaders from both parties calling for its removal.

But Republican state Rep. Jeanne Ives, whose campaign produced the ad in her primary election challenge to Gov. Bruce Rauner, is refusing to pull the spot

But it will be a sad comment on Illinois Republicans if this person garners their support in the primary. The ad aims for the voters who are least aware, bigoted, and terribly ignorant. The Republican Party has been practically overrun with them. The general election will show that Illinoisians are, in general, much, much better than that.

The myth of the ignorant, uneducated, unaware Republican supporter is in many cases just that - a myth. If they were simply innocents with a lack of information it would be different, but they run the gamut from unaware & ignorant to wealthy and highly educated. The thing that ties them together is their love of privilege. Racial, economic, sex/gender, religion...they care most about protecting their power over others.

of the social morals of the "new" Repub party. This lays out their bias in a very open format for all to see. If I were a follower of D J tRump (God forbid) I would be so proud to be unmasked this way. Decorum just keeps sinking. Can't wait for this crap show to be over!

Maybe he was supposed to be Antifa and the Latino actors refused to play a racist role.

I'm surprised a black woman agreed to be in this ad.

and maybe there are some Irish gangs, but when the guy said illegal immigration the Trumpies got the message. Same as they got the message when the teacher's union lady just happened to be black.

a holocaust denier, is running for Congress in the 3rd Congressional district. He has no repiggie challenger, so he will be their nominee.

Trump is enabling all these haters. They lived under rocks before he burst onto the scene.

I am ashamed that these people are in my state, but we are not alone. They are emboldened everywhere.

We need to GOTV and chase these people back into the shadows, if not into jails. Lets render them harmless now.

Fucking Mike Bost.

I call and email that douche repeatedly since the election (mostly about the ACA repeal) and all I got was a place on his freaking mail list.

Now he asks me for money, and to complete pathetic push polls and whatnot.
