He's hard-core conservative -- by an older, saner definition. He voted for the tax bill, not because of tRump, but because he thinks it is proper tax policy. He donated to Doug Jones' campaign because of Roy Moore.
I can respect Flake's stance while totally disagreeing with his ideas for the role of government.
Not many Republicans left. Most have transmogrified into Repukes and Repugnants. This, IMO, is the result of all the dirty tricks used to stuff every level of government with party hacks -- any body will do as long as it falls in line. Competence and character were not considered.
