I notice he is wearing military awards and decorations on a clearly non-military uniform. Above his left breast pocket, the silver and blue item at the top is a Combat Infantryman's Badge (CIB) awarded ONLY to infantry soldiers who have been in combat. He may be a Vietnam vet because the other ribbons look like a Vietnam Service Medal and an Army Good Conduct Medal. I'll have to blow up the photo and take a closer look.

While there is a miniature CIB that can be worn on a civilian suit lapel (I have one), I guess he's okay wearing the full-sized CIB -- but it pisses me off to see that award on the chest of a Nazi, especially since my father and a lot of his cousins, the boys who played football for him when he was coaching high school football in the late 1930's, and many of his friends earned a CIB fighting Nazis.

and leaders encouraged their votes to avoid voting for Nazis like David Duke. Not anymore apparently. They don't feel like the association would damage their party's brand these days. Some of their voters seem to like the combination of racism and authoritarianism.
