1. I find Tom Harthman rather long-winded and a bit dull, but the title drew me in.

It sounded like an interesting subject, and I assumed it must have some connection to the training Starbucks had just sent their managers to. I was disappointed to find that "how to train white people not to fear black people" never came up. Nor did Hartman say anything at all that I didn't already know.

3. Last night NPR interviewed a woman who will be leading the Starbuck training.

The purpose is to become aware of the ubiquity of unconscious bias, and start the process of identifying it in ourselves.
