(10,420 posts)Without it the legislation will fail, and is in the process of doing so as stated. It's possible that it can be shored up again if Democrats regain control, but I think they'll need both the House and the Senate as well as the Oval Office. I saw the ACA as a stepping stone toward universal health care, but I think Republicans recognize it as such as well and that's why they have been adamantly opposed to it despite similar legislation having Republican support in the past in other areas of the country.
