(37,648 posts)They'd probably think that they're not real people, anyway. They're more like animals. I think Trump said that recently (altho I haven't verified that myself, to see if he really said that.)

(204,779 posts)It was very tough to sit through though we already knew the facts. And you're certainly right about Trump, he has no empathy for other human beings, but it might get through to someone. That depiction really brought the realities home for those of us who only read about the war - and the atrocities - in history class.

(37,648 posts)(or undocumented immigrants)...I think we can all agree that taking children away from their parents is cruel and inhuman. The children would be traumatized, and who knows what all might happen to the children, w/o their parents there to watch out for them. America can't do such a thing.
The movie was intensely moving to me. Liam Neeson was perfect as Schindler. Now I see in person the steps/stages that people go through to get to the level of inhumanity as happened in Germany. How easily some people can be led in that direction.

(204,779 posts)I know we have managed to "normalize" Trump's myriad offenses, but anyone with families - including those who still somehow support him - have got to take notice.
And the film affected me, too. Reading about it and seeing the horrific atrocities depicted on the screen are two different things. Everyone needs to see it once so we never forget.

(37,648 posts)Taking children from their parents, harming them in any way...this cannot be normalized like other Trump's offenses, as you say. Children are innocent.
