We know that most voters are more likely to vote for someone they've heard of - in yesterday's Democratic primary here in upstate New York, the winner was definitely the one with the most signs - so they may feel that gives her an edge. But if this is a traditionally Democratic district, the Democratic nominee was likely to win anyway. 
BTW, she's going to be on with Stephen Colbert tomorrow, he just announced it.
