2. Entirely possible. Unlike economics, the trickle down theory works in terrorism.

WMD's become smaller, simpler, easier to produce. Harder to monitor. Domestic terrorists are posing a substantially greater threat than we ever imagined, even after Oklahoma City.
So, yes. I think we will be hit hard at some point and it sucks. My greater worry,at this time, is that there are elements either in this administration, or who influence it, that would use an attack to further consolidate power.

This is just a personal opinion, but I really believe that someone like Steve Bannon would not be terribly upset if some dark skinned group managed to kill a lot of people in this country.
