In my Republican leaning district we had 10 Democrats step up to challenge the Republican incumbent congressperson, six ran in the primary. There were years in the past that the Democrats didn't even bother to field a candidate. She's a Paul Ryan protegee who is very unpopular, she doesn't publish her schedule until after the fact because protesters often show up.
