Aretha Franklin & George Michael - I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) (Original Post) Crowman2009 Aug 2018 OP
Their voices complemented each other so well. An amazing duet. May they both rest in peace. LonePirate Aug 2018 #1

I swear Aretha could use a phone book as her lyrics sheet and make it sound heavenly. She was simply one of the best vocalists I have ever heard.

We couldn't get enough of the little 45 record - remember those?

Played it over and over and just went crazy with her voice.

Aretha looks stupendous in this video - and so does George Michael by the way.

Such a great duet. I'm putting it on my Favorites list and sending it out.

R.I.P Great lady of soul.

That song will always remind me of my freshman year in college. Devastated when George Michael passed on Christmas day in 2016. My kids had no understanding of why I was so sad and are equally puzzled by my reaction to Aretha Franklin's death. They'll understand some day.

I loved her music. She is a big part of my “soundtrack”.

And I really like this one. Thanks!
