I remember him playing a fundraiser for Dennis Kucinich back around 2000. His support for liberals probably goes back through his entire life. And everybody knows Willie smokes weed.

Music has the ability to transcend divides. Willie's music appeals to a wide variety of people. He just makes good music. A few jerk-offs might make some noise over his politics, but that doesn't change the quality of his music.
