A lot of people don't like Maher. He says shit I don't like some times. He's not really a liberal.

But he hit every nail on the head in that one.

He doesn't really offend me much at all, although I do think he sometimes swings for the home run and misses completely. But I'll give hm a pass on that. He works hard, and doesn't get it right every time.*

As for "a liberal," I don't really have precise enough a definition for that to decide one way or the other. I do find him to BE liberal, in that he does to seem to be tolerant of just about everything but utter BS. He'll jump in if he thinks his partner in any given discussion is wrong, but doesn't really seem to put his foot down unless they lie outright. I'd have no patience for that, either.

It's just like "a conservative." These days, that just means an unswerving dogmatic right-wing Republican asshole. But "conservative?" Hell, look at me. I am cautious, risk averse, prefer thinking out decisions before making them, been with the same woman for the last 44 years, worked for the same outfit ever since I was recruited 43 years ago, raised two self-sufficient kids, do no addictive drugs (not even nicotine, religion or alcohol), and debts give me the willies.

I am the very definition of "conservative." But "a conservative?" Mitch McConnell would kiss Merrick Garland's ass live on CNN at prime time before that would happen.

45 has this built this wall around himself. Just like with Pink Floyd's "The Wall" when the wall is torn down there are going to be a lot of people in this country feeling the biggest sense of loss. Because their leader has been shown to be a con artist and fraud.

for about 2 years now. when i started saying it i thought there might be normal checks and balances in what was certain to be a catastrophic presidency. i did not foresee how equally rotten the entire GOP is. i mean i hated them but this? no, they have fulfilled my worst nightmares and much worse.
