It was widely discussed at the time as being highly suspicious. Just too convenient.

2. When I was a senior in high school,

I had a part time job across the street from a Gary Hart for Senate campaign office. It thought it would be a good place to meet college boys, so I volunteered. There were a few college boys, but they weren't interested in a high school girl, but it was cool, cuz I caught the political bug & have had it ever since.

Hart would have been a fine statesman.

and Lee Atwater was perhaps the most evil of them all.

That said, Gary didn't have to pose with the girl on his lap... and plus there was the story where he "dared" the media to follow him around... and I thought he admitted to having an affair with Donna Rice.

The only thing about that was prior to that "scandal"... most Presidents and politicos had affairs and they were politely ignored by the press and I'm sure Gary was depending on this same level of press behavior... and didn't count on the National Enquirer doing the hit piece on him and Rice and "Monkey Business". JFK was famous for having numerous affairs while President... but he certainly wasn't alone in that.

Would he have made a better President than George H. W. Bush, I think he would have. We would certainly be living in a different world.

For the record, I think we should leave people alone about their sex lives... unless there is an action that someone takes to "cover up" the affair (like making payments to porn stars).
