is that it is easier to cover up the corruption, no ambassadors, less likely they will get wind of skeevy dealings, and you don't have to share....winning so much you will tire of it.

...it's worth remembering that a country's overseas embassy is their sovereign soil. All that even the most stern and credible ambassador can do is suggest in strong terms.
Turkey can revoke the credentials of all the Saudis in the country, and send them all packing, of course.
