WP: Can Beto O'Rourke really beat Ted Cruz in Texas?

Beto O’Rourke has the hype. But can he beat Ted Cruz in Texas? The odds are stacked against him. The Washington Post has followed the Senate race in Texas since April, visiting 20 cities and towns across the state. O’Rourke has represented El Paso in Congress since 2013. Cruz was elected to the Senate in the same election cycle. They are now facing off in one of the highest profile races of the 2018 midterm elections.

He's one of the best candidates to come along for a very long time - and that quote is more than appropriate!

Even if he doesn't win:

1) We forced Cruz and the GOP to spend millions defending a seat they figured for sure was safe. Millions they weren't able to spend on our seats or defending house seats.

2) Beto has demonstrated we can compete in Texas.

3) Beto ain't going anywhere. If not Senator Beto, then Governor Beto.

But why would anyone vote for the likes of Ted Cruz - whose own colleagues can't stand him - when they could vote for the most inspiring candidate of this election cycle??
