(51,550 posts)Trump lies so much, the MSM seems to have given up addressing his crowd size lies.
So how does what you said "respond" to the poster saying he wants this addressed by the MSM? What exactly was the point you were trying to make? You know how to Google. If there is something more recent, find it and post it. Why shit on this thread?

(1,483 posts)That was everywhere.
But the size of the rally crowd versus the perception isn't something that I have really seen covered outside of youtube.
I got most of my news this past year from MSNBC, The Atlantic, The Guardian and BBC World News. Mostly MSNBC all through the evening but that has changed in 2018.

How big are those crowds? Who is getting paid? Rather than just quick edit "Trump Followers are Dopes" youtube videos.

I agree that it would be interesting to cover the current crowd sizes.

(1,483 posts)I am very grateful that Trump has not found his Reifenstahl. Nor probably even sees the use of one.
Imagine how much worse off we would be.. even than we are now.

He really is a fake president.

(35,648 posts)remember the photos of people they would track from rally to rally? Same people.
I think we can safely say that recent republican presidents are smoke and mirrors.
I appreciate this guy's analysis. It's fact-based, and very reasonable. So really, Trump has less than a third of the supporters that he purports to have.
It's utterly amazing to me that these republicans can take over the country and rule with so little support using such tactics as voter suppression and gerrymandering. When history writes the story of this era.....

(32,620 posts)Several (maybe even most) times Trump's rallies have had such low attendance that they were moved to a smaller area, just like this guy explained. They used camera angles to make it look jam-packed but it's really half-empty.
Note that the signs are all printed by a commercial printer, not hand-drawn by the attendees. The printed signs are given out to the paid attendees as they walk in the door. If people had made their own signs at home it would be a clue to how engaged they are. (These people aren't.)
Never believe the numbers Cheeto uses for his rally attendance. His numbers will never be correct. It's probably one-half to one-third of what he says.

From a woman who attended the trump-cruz rally
My takeaway from the report is that they are out for blood. Republicans are going all out in their efforts to violently overthrow what remains of the Left in this country. Their sense of entitlement to power has never been more clear. There is no reasoning with people whipped up into a frenzy like this. And these are our neighbors, our fellow Americans, ready to take up arms against their perceived threats that have no basis in reality, only a distortion of it. I honestly don't know what to think, I don't want to believe what I see and hear with my own senses. But they are fools being led by more clever fools willing to incite a civil war. This election may very well be our last chance at a peaceful return to normalcy but, even if we win by a landslide, expect there to be millions of useful idiots freaking out that the sky is falling.
I don't get how so many republicans are willing to be played as pawns. But they're swallowing it hook, line and sinker. Fools indeed. Say the word "socialism" in front of them and you may as well be a magician who spoke some magic word to kick off their programming to attack.
This woman was very brave indeed to go there as a witness and I am grateful for her willingness to share her very insightful observations.
