Political art - "How are you voting this year?"

"How Are You Voting This Year?" is a series of political action yard signs to activate voters in the mid-term 2018 election to save democracy by voting for Democratic candidates. The political action yard signs are paid for by artist Randy Burman and not authorized by any party, candidate or his/her committee.

Each of the signs has the question in bold black type,"How Are You Voting This Year?" followed by a rectangular blue box with a white check box and to the right of the checkbox, in white letters, the word "Democrat". Below the blue box is identical red box also with a white check box inside and to the right of it, in white letters (and sometimes emojis or other graphics) words and phrases gleaned from the news describing or associated with Republicans and Conservative values.

The ideas for the signs were made in a brainstorming manner, where after reading an article or story or hear or see a word or concept, I'd add new words or phrases to the ever-growing layout document. From the on-going list I made and posted, first 10 images a day and then an (abusive, I thought) 20 images a day - to social media accounts on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr with the instructions to choose by "liking" only one or the ones you like best. The next step, I explained, is the 10 signs that received the most "likes" would be printed and distributed for free to anyone who would commit to legally posting them and be responsible to remove them after the election in accordance with local political sign laws.

There's another 50 ideas that won't be posted because 200 signs is already too many to choose from.

The next step will be to post this video on social media and direct those interested to make their "likes" while there its still an opportunity, and then next week we'll can printing and begin distributing the actual 24" x 18" Coroplast political lawn signs.
