last night because of the horrible killings in Thousand Oaks. Tonight it is the fires burning homes in Ventura. Winds are fierce. Troubled days.

But I have to give him credit for keeping up on the news and including his thoughts for those affected in his monologues. I have no doubt that he's the real deal and his audience seems to appreciate that.

I agree that these are troubled times - Colbert tempers his humor with recognition of the crises we're facing now.
