The Popular Party, which governed Spain from 1996 to 2004 and 2011 until this June, is basically a repackaged Falange (Franco's party).

After the Rajoy calamity though, it may be quite some time until they have the run of the country again.

The PP here has pretty much always catered enough to those elements just enough to keep it in check, plus and people forget but Spain is a young country democratically speaking and certainly hasn't dealt with it's past yet.
The PSOE(socialists, don't get excited) have a staggeringly bad history of corruption but have been out of influence for a while are now tentatively in charge saying they are a reformed party.

It's been a mess politically here for ever and still is, the landscape is changing a bit now so who knows but VOX isn't a great sign.
