Played by a British comedian, the character is always treated as real. She's had her own specials on tv, been guest on late night tv. Always as Dame Edna. She's very funny.

9. I thought that skit was quite humorous and well done. My fault for not watching the T.V. anymore

otherwise I might know the good Dame. The best T.V. in my limited time (1954-20xx) was from the British Isles. Some of the stuff was captured by US media wannabes (Doctor in the House, On the Buses) but most turned me off of US attempts at humor.

Thanks for the educational point!

Is the only station that still shows British shows.

There was a lawsuit filed and we lost many. Finally Doc Martin is on, but Acorn TV holds up the shows. I love the ones we can see. The Midwife,Midsummer Murders. I think Father Brown is still on.

She's not current. She was an occasional guest on The Tonight Show, had her own primetime specials with very famous guests.
