All of those investigations he spun off and without an indictment or recommendation for an indictment, it might give the Democrats more to fire at Trump for much longer than a single event like an indictment that the SCOTUS might not support enough. Trump was already screaming 'No collusion' but he was already doing so. Once the Mueller report's release is no longer on top of the news cycle he must deal with everything else. Those will remain in the news cycle, and he is scared to death about the dossier McCain had delivered. He knew last week the Mueller report omitted conclusions, but he remains freaked out about the other stuff. He might have had a good Sunday and a less horrible week than those in recent months, but the state investigations are going keep him up at night and it is not really possible to see a MAGA popularity resurgence. The embarrassment those followers are beginning to sense will begin to increase again. Watch for it - it is happening in red states, where they are being asked to leave restaurants and posts on social media about looking for 'safe' places to gather have been popping up. Mueller is a republican, but I think he hates Trump. Mueller knows how to do the most long term damage - if he was carrying water for Trump, he would not have taken much action against Cohen and the others. It is possible he did the maximum he could to make it as miserable for Trump in the coming years or the rest of his life. It is possible. It doesn't feel like it today, and think about it - if no Mueller report was issued or if they threatened to shut down the investigation and gave him till this weekend to issue a report, Mueller did alot more damage than anyone sympathetic to republicans or Trump. If they did threaten to shut down the investigation, the Mueller report would be considered invalid.
