8. I have told her about DU numerous times, maybe Colbert will convince her, LOL

And she knows the whole story of what woke me up - I had a dentist appointment on 9/11 and she had the TV on CNN that day, so I experienced 9/11 in her office. It scared me witless - everyone there was freaking out, as you can imagine - we're in New York, Upstate, but close enough. That was the day I decided I'd better damn well start paying closer attention. I mentioned that once on DU and another DUer asked if I'd ever told my dentist, so I did. That's how I learned she was "one of us," too - and we often discuss politics, especially now, when I'm there.

And thank you so much! It's so easy to get depressed and feel panicky, these days, with such relentless bad news each and every day. But Colbert and the other late night political comedians help keep me sane now - so I decided a couple of years ago that I'd start posting them - not everybody stays up as late as I do and we all could use the humor!
