- which is why the man got so close - and would’ve died from infection from where the trap pinched into his skin/tendons/muscle.

The man deliberately caused the cat to pass out so he could get the trap off - the cat came around quickly after the noose was released, its tail was wagging as it walked off.

Don’t know if the cat will live, but it has a chance with the trap off.
