you don't educate the public, the public educates you.

Trying to hold forth on the "social democrat versus democratic socialist versus socialist" labels is a lose.

Bernie should drop socialist from whatever label he declares for himself, the repukes have made it toxic. He should rather invent a new label...

Between 1870 and 1950, Argentina had a massive wave of European immigration - second only to the U.S.

But because the processing clerks were often unfamiliar with non-Latin surnames, many German, Russian, Polish, and Jewish last names were recorded less than accurately.

Greenberg, for instance, became 'Grinberg'; Schmidt became 'Schmid'; and Pachman became 'Pakman'.

Poor guy.

Democratic socialist by definition do not want to control the means of production. They democratically (by electing representatives to enact and decide the legislation and how it works) support and take part in programs that benefit our democratic society as a whole, like libraries, fire departments, Medicare, Medicaid, SS, the VA, Medicare for all if Bernie's legislation passes (one day it will), unemployment, child labor law, 40hr wrk weeks, child care. police departments, the list goes on and on. So if you support or partake in any of these programs you are a democratic socialist. To refuse to call yourself a Democratic Socialist is equivalent to saying, "keep you government hands off my Medicare", lol. Your technical definitions just serve to obfuscate the subject and serves no purpose.

I think most know that he means a Nordic variety social democracy when he says Democratic Socialist. And I don't think changing it to "Social Democrat" even though more accurate, will suddenly cause Republicans to have an "aha" moment and stop using the S word to describe him. It will only confuse the issue more. It seems to confuse many even in here.
