In the military, one of our absolutes is "Never leave a man behind." That message reaches deep inside me everytime I hear it.

I hope she pounds that message all the way to the Senate.

And he didn't even sit down to talk to them.

Let THAT sink in.

With all due respect, nitpicking Yertle McTurtle’s most-likely opponent does not help in getting this political reptile defeated next November.

Bottom line: Lt. Col. McGrath is our best chance to Ditch Mitch. OK, she may not be perfect. She may have said things that may irk those of us on the blue side of the political spectrum, but please realize that she must garner votes in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. And — given what’s occurring politically in the Bluegrass State — I’d be quite willing to overlook her statements that would help her defeat #MoscowMitch.

Honestly, this has been the Democratic Party’s weakness — failure to get voters to turn out on Election Day because some of us don’t like this statement, that photo, or the other news story.
___
That said, I remember when Yertle was a halfway decent county executive, but he sold his soul to enter Congress and I lost ALL respect for him since then.

...these poor souls need to be told the truth, and that is that coal is NOT the future, and their jobs are going to vanish even more with time, regardless of who is in power.

WHY this country doesn't retrain and promote industries to take over in the areas where these poor souls are being discharged of their hazardous professions. Green energy plants should be centered in coal country. Other industries need to be encouraged into these states and communities where the jobs are vanishing and poverty is rampant. THIS should be a goal of government. Bring jobs to these areas where the people are losing their obsolete jobs.

It's about the disability benefits they were promised after getting sick at those jobs, and how McConnell denied those benefits to sick workers.

My point still stands. The back pay and sick benefits are just more icing on the cake. These people have been so screwed over for so long. It's just a shame that even their own representative doesn't give a rat's ass.
