(205,087 posts)I actually laughed out loud at New Rules - it was clearly OTT, but he made his point.

(205,087 posts)We obviously can't see Joe Biden doing any of those ridiculous things, but that was exactly Bill's point.

(118,595 posts)You are great to post.

(205,087 posts)Which Is why I wait as long as I can. This week it was Sarah Haider - last week it was inexplicably Michael Moore. I'm wondering if they only release a certain number of minutes? But I was glad that they included his "funny bit" this week, I always like those.

(75 posts)If Prime Minister Ardem chose to wear a hijab to show solidarity with her country's Muslim community, which had just lost 51 members to a deranged white supremacist, and if other women in New Zealand decided to emulate her, I don't see where that's any of Haider's goddam business!
Rhiannon12866
(205,087 posts)Though last week they left out Michael Moore - and that was the featured interview.

(53,938 posts)Sarah Haider was really interesting. She made some really good points. Though, I was hoping Heather McGhee was going to slap the fuck out of that disgusting POS, Andrew Sullivan....oh, how I loathe that asshole.

(5,043 posts)Andrew Sullivan was obnoxious. He is one POS.
Rhiannon12866
(205,087 posts)She's someone I knew nothing about so I had no idea what to expect. I don't know why they choose to eliminate some of the interviews. I can't think of any reason, last week it was Michael Moore.
And I have to agree with you about Andrew Sullivan, I used to be pleased that a conservative was agreeing with us - but tonight he was just a jerk. Yes, he doesn't like Trump, but he was totally out-of-line on Kavanaugh! He's as much of an offensive ass now as he was when he was harassing girls in his teens - and proved it during those hearings!
Behind the Aegis
(53,938 posts)I couldn't say why. However, I am glad I got to see the interview because I thought it was enlightening, and likely went over the heads of more than a few.
Sullivan has always been a POS. Us in the gay community have known about this asshole for way too long. When McGhee shut him down, I actually screamed at the screen; "You tell him! Punch him in his smug face! Go on, girl!" My husband just shot me a sideways look. LOL! Mahar fucked up in that little back and forth too. There is a huge difference in some stupid things; sexual assault is not a "stupid thing". McGhee also made a fucking awesome remark (paraphrasing): "We aren't talking about us (the panel) getting jobs, we are talking about someone who is getting a lifetime appointment and gets to decide what happens to us as a people." And, let's be honest, if you or I had acted they way that POS Kavanaugh did in an interview, we would have been escorted off the premises immediately, not hired to a position from which we couldn't be fired!

(205,087 posts)I was disappointed when they left Michael Moore out last week since they used his appearance to publicize te show, it didn't make sense to me. A few months ago they didn't make the opening interview with Fran Lebowitz available because she apparently said something controversial. But I wasn't aware that this happened with either Michael Moore or Sarah Haider.
And we know that Bill likes to have RWers on, maybe he takes pride that they still come on his show. His audience obviously doesn't appreciate them, but he usually likes shutting them down, and it also baffled me that he agreed with Sullivan on Kavanaugh. I know exactly what you mean, his behavior, especially when he was questioned, was positively cringeworthy. I'm glad that they're revisiting this, not that I expect it to make any difference, but how anyone can defend him - given his recent behavior - is totally beyond me. And Heather McGhee was also my favorite on tonight's show!

(162 posts)a POS Republican in all his glory. Some of you'll may agree with his ilk, because of a singular matter called Trump, but his stench and racism is still quite prevalent.
BigmanPigman
(51,583 posts)He is thoroughly rancid and kept going on and on. I fast forwarded through him eventually when I couldn't take it anymore.
Rhiannon12866
(205,087 posts)Especially when Bill agreed with him! Yes, Kavanaugh was an abusive and entitled monster back when he was a high school student, but his behavior during the hearings made it obvious that he hadn't changed one bit! Heather McGhee kept bringing that up, but she just wasn't getting through to them. I wish she could have showed the nauseating footage!

(63,221 posts)Really liked hearing Samantha Power, Heather McGhee and Tim Naftali. The New Rules Biden bit was hilarious!
Andrew Sullivan was a racist, right-wing jerk, as usual. But overall a pretty good show. Thanks!
Rhiannon12866
(205,087 posts)I may need to watch it again it was so outrageously funny! And that kind of OTT humor is exactly what we need at a time like this!
As for Andrew Sullivan, did he even watch those excruciating Kavanaugh hearings? That entitled creep hasn't changed one bit since his misspent youth and anyone who supports him is beyond my understanding...
