although the privilege might evaporate if the lawyer himself seems to be part of a criminal conspiracy

Here we might be wondering, however, whether legal-eagle Giuli volunteered to be The Don's lawyer pro bono just to give Giuli himself a free hand to run his own racket in the Ukraine
