"Uneducated White Voters" Interviewed. It's Really Bad

Pakman breaks it down well and makes a point about how education makes a difference. I think it helps us to understand the problem in a more concise way. This will have an impact on the next election, of course.

CNN interviews a group of uneducated white women voters in swing states who voted for Donald Trump in 2016, and it's as bad as anyone could have imagined

Keep 'em ignorant and unformed with no critical thinking skills and they'll always be vulnerable to repug lies and divisive wedge issues.

There was a post here yesterday that said some of these women were switching as trump has not lived up to his promises to bring back good factory jobs—plus he's been an embarrassing idiot.

He makes the same suggestion I do. If we want a better society, politics and representation we simply have to improve our education system all the way from Kindergarten up. We could then make some real progress.

Besides, we are in a highly technical era and this should be a matter-of-fact proposal. Children should be able to start to work with simple and basic critical thinking and logic at about mid-school at least, but I don't see why would couldn't start gearing them up earlier than that by stressing problem solving and inserting some ideas that they can then build on as they develop.

I am hoping that we will get to some point where there will be a referendum about this for both the impact it has on the culture and the outcomes in regards to our political scene. Children will also benefit by being able to think creatively and clearly as technology marches on. It is vital and important to the future.

new developments provide, a society will eventually be overtaken by a better educated one which does provide good education for it's citizens.

Very interesting. Doesn't mean I don't still want to shake the ever loving sh*t out of those women (and their ilk), but very interesting nonetheless.

We just need to get to around 5% of them to make a huge difference.

vote for trump and give their reasons why. Their reasons are obviously reasons that one comes to from being uneducated.

I have a high school education and did several attempts at college and did not succeed in any of them.

Yet, I am able to make educated decisions on most issues. I read news articles, watch the news ( on both sides ), talk to people who are both highly educated, and ones who have my level of education.

What is the definition of uneducated voters? Is it uneducated by level of education in school/college or is it being uneducated by choice?

By the way, I figured it out on my own without looking information up that those monthly check increases were going to cost at tax time.

Maybe I am smarter than I think or maybe it is that I worked for Liberty Tax for 10 years.

Oh, yeah, my job with Liberty Tax was dressing up as Lady Liberty waving signs for the business.

This segment only confirms my view that it is an utter waste of time and resources -- and a losing strategy -- for the Democratic Party to go chasing after these voters. They're a lost cause. These folks will happily vote against their own interests before they are ever willing to admit to themselves that they were conned in 2016.

If there is a Democratic victory to be had in 2020, it will come from motivating younger voters, in large numbers, to show up at the polls. It will NOT come from attracting Trump voters!
