2. Wind turbines do kill birds, just not nearly as many as other things,
like windows, cats, power lines and cars. The actual numbers depend on who you talk to, but dead birds are not piling up under wind turbines. Actually, I doubt that they'd be there for long anyhow because some other creatures would quickly eat them.

3. Research...
There's so much wrong with that video.
There's this on bat fatalities: https://www.usgs.gov/centers/fort/science/bat-fatalities-wind-turbines-investigating-causes-and-consequences?qt-science_center_objects=0#qt-science_center_objects This, birds and bats: https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/rspb.2017.0829 This, birds and bats: https://abcbirds.org/wind-energy-threatens-birds/ And this: https://wildlife.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.2193/2007-032 This is a well-studied subject, with lot's of peer-reviewed literature. *On edit: This s to point out that there are significant mortalities caused by wind turbines on bird and bat populations. |

5. incorrectly framed.
all human constructions have impacts.
Question is, compared to what? ![]() That's why Audobon supports wind power. Best option for producing electricity, if properly sited. https://www.audubon.org/conservation/audubons-position-wind-power "Audubon strongly supports properly sited wind power as a renewable energy source that helps reduce the threats posed to birds and people by climate change. However, we also advocate that wind power facilities should be planned, sited, and operated in ways that minimize harm to birds and other wildlife, and we advocate that wildlife agencies should ensure strong enforcement of the laws that protect birds and other wildlife." |

6. But Trump doesn't care about birds. He's just PO'd about the wind turbines
offshore in Scotland near one of his golf resorts. He also hates renewable energy. While it's true that wind turbines do kill birds, Trump is ridiculously exaggerating the problem by claiming that dead birds are piling up underneath the turbines (they aren't). One thing that's being looked into is the locations where the turbines are sited, that is, placing them in areas away from migration paths (which is a major cause of bird deaths from wind turbines). But leave it to Trump to misrepresent an actual problem for his own purposes.

14. If you think wind turbines kill birds, wait until climate changes gets going
The floods and fires have probably already killed more wildlife than wind turbines combined.

8. He should have kept talking
And walked around the turbine until he came to a couple of guys throwing birds on a huge pile (fake ones or CGI-added) before turning around to see them and muttering, "Shit!" and turning off his camera. Trump - and a lot of his followers - would have fallen for it.
Every year I drive through a small town in western Kansas that is basically a huge wind farm. I kind of find them pretty, and if I could camp out underneath one while staring at others, I would find it very relaxing. TlalocW |

9. I don't get it...???
If the windmills were spinning like air fans, it might make sense. I’ve driven by thousands of wind turbines, and they are NEVER turning that fast...never. So why dead birds? I’m guess airplanes take down millions more??
This whole thing seems like such a bogus story. Complain about the sight of these giant monsters on the view as you drive through an area...but what about power lines and coal burning plants? Ugly also. Solar farms aren’t the most beautiful sights...but not ugly. I’d like to see some actual facts on death of birds caused by wind turbines. Then maybe number of migrating salmon killed by hydro damns? This fat insult to humanity needs to be taken on with these nonsense accusations when he makes these absurd claims. It feels like we live in a nation today where ANYTHING can be said and taken as fact, when in reality much of it is absolute bull shit and nonsense. |

11. Wow....seriously? I had no idea.
Then that might make sense. I guess the unknown is the actual damage done to the bird population. Maybe some actual facts would help to clarify what is really going on...what is the impact on birds.
