He's so far out of this league he has no idea what he's admitting to. I doubt even the lowest shithole of a country has ever had such an ignorant man in their statehouse.

This should be the lead on every news broadcast, if only to show how unfit for office he is.

But his anger and ignorance are not unique. They really are emblematic of all who follow the Orange Leader. He posted a stupid video -- trying to get a rise out of me -- which, essentially, blamed Islam for every terrorist act on the planet Earth, at least over the last 50 years. The video -- which I will not copy here -- actually pointed to more than a dozen recent acts of terror perpetrated by homicidal factions linking themselves to Islam. But the conclusion one was expected to draw from it was that ONLY Islam perpetrates acts of terror, ONLY Islam plots and executes diabolical plans (9/11) and lone-wolf plans (Orlando nightclub slaughter) and therefore ALL Islam merit the trashy term "muslimes". Here's my response:

"Right! All acts of terror, worldwide, gave been committed by all muslims, and there have never been any Christians in Germany or Russia who did the same and worse. Oh, and those muslims that the crusaders admitted they ate when they breeched the walls of Ma’arra — well, dudes were hungry so whaddya gonna do, right? My point is, over the last 60 years muslims have dominated the mass-slaughter scene, picking up where the Germans and Commie Russkies and Commie Chinese and American military and, going way back to the OT, the Jews left off. It’s not one religion or failed philosophy that causes terror, cruelty, and slaughter. It’s human nature. A nature which, sadly, believes it right and proper to kill and slaughter a segment of humanity in response to the violence and murder perpetrated by a small segment of that segment. We are, fundamentally, all Al Capones extracting mega-revenge from any who are perceived as hurting us - and our hatred and lust for vengeance multiplies the number of those we hurt and who, in response, seek to hurt us. And so it goes as little minds inspire other minds to stupid acts of hatred and revenge, is what I’m saying. No wonder Jesus wept. His mission of redemption was a failure, and history and trashy videos - like this one - prove it. Can you disprove what I’ve said?-- "

Dude’s response was — I swear to god — to point out the typos in my message, to harrumph and snort even while making typos in his response!.

He offered not a syllable of counter-argument. And that, of course, is the mind set of a soul lost to reason.

Dude is not a Trump cultist, although he worships at that particular church on occasion. His cult is much, much more psychologically damaging than that. He is fully capable of seeing the holes, the many holes, in his arguments, but does not want to because he feels safe and comfortable being ignorant and hateful, targeting the “other”, in this case the helpless hispanics from Central America seeking safety and asylum from violence and death, and all members of Islam, a religious faith that includes more than a billion people. A professed Catholic, he despises the Pope (go figure) and embraces an interpretation of that religion that permits, even advocates, hatred of the poor and oppressed. His "safe space" is his hatred!

If the Dems want to reach out to people like this guy, they are wasting their time. Best strategy is to defeat the candidates running to perpetrate the madness and to marginalize the teeth gnashing losers so their loathsome “opinions” are forever relegated to the shadowy tables at Dunkin’ Donuts where cantankerous old fools might be sequestered to spew their venom into their morning coffee while decent, rational people go about their everyday business, building their own futures, helping each other as needed, and supporting the basic values on which America used to be based.

I fear you are correct. Democrats have to take a clear stand and stop trying to think we can win over people like this. We are always so careful to apologize any time we dare to hint that some on the other side are believing falsehoods. Instead its "we all want wants best for America but they just have a different opinion of how to get there" So sick of this fake PC response. Where is it getting us?

He says, "I took the oil." What oil? Where? What are these troops? What are they doing with the oil? Are they building a pipeline somewhere to take it somewhere else?

The other day he also said that he sent troops to Saudi Arabia for $1billion that was deposited into a bank. What troops? Where are they going? Where's the billion dollars?

Probably this is all his demented fantasy. There are probably no US troops taking oil. There are probably no troops being bought by Saudi Arabia. There is probably no $1b check or bank deposit.

But weirdly, no one seems to be asking about it or commenting on what sounds like some feverish fantasy from a senile guy who's been binge-watching "Jack Ryan." Has anyone seen any article or interview about these "revelations"? Has anyone from Congress asked about it?

I actually hope (I have a child in the military) that it's just we have an insane president who makes these things up in order to sound cool and macho to Laura Ingraham. If these are true, and our young men and women are being put in danger of death to protect Saudi oilfields and be mercenaries for a murderous regime, and NO ONE CARES, that would be even worse.

There is a lot of oversight of where our armed forces are and what they are doing and how it gets paid for. If it was true, our Dems would know and do something about it.

We have to wonder if there's any truth at all to this statement. It certainly deserves looking into, but it's exactly the kind of thing he'd brag about without evidence that it's actually happening.

We no longer have any idea what's going on with our government.

If you want another country's oil, you do it the way Rex Tillerson did it at ExxonMobil, the way all oil companies do it: You negotiate a complex, lengthy production sharing contract, conduct geoscientific tests, and then proceed with drilling operations. If you are successful, the proceeds from the production are split between the producing nation and the exploration company. You don't just "take" another nation's oil, any more so than taking a country's population into slavery.

And yes, I speak from experience.

First, it was "He shouldn't enrich himself at the people's expense." Then it was "Obey the law." Then "Don't ask foreign countries to interfere in our elections." Now, it's "Don't commit war crimes."

You just don't want the President to do anything, do you?
