A Rancorous Britain Leaves The EU: 'Bloody Furious,' RIP Democracy, JON PIE

- Europhiles Barbara and Salvatore Garfi travelled five hours from their home in Wales to protest in London.

Feb. 1, France24. The divide between the Remain and Leave camps has dominated national discourse, and they showed no sign of coming together when Brexiteers erupted with joy in Parliament Square in London late Friday as Britain left the EU, while pro-Europeans expressed their dismay in the same square a night earlier.

- 'Boris Johnson is about to find out just how weak the UK is after Brexit. Britain’s economic weight has diminished since leaving the EU. The government must acknowledge this in trade negotiations. The Guardian.

When the Quebec independence party won, Montreal used to be the biggest city in Canada and it's financial capitol. Then all the banks, etc., moved to Toronto as a result to protect themselves, which has grown by leaps and bounds to become the financial capitol and largest city in Canada.

London will lose it's standing as the financial capitol of Europe, and it will switch to Paris or Belgium or Frankfurt.

I was always amazed at the new buildings each successive trip. All these building were bank headquarter buildings, except for the Eaton Centre, which was the biggest indoor shopping mall located downtown.

I enjoy his commentary—and love the mode of his off-air moments—the same way I love the vitriol of Lewis Black
