DoJ swept in to overturn the prosecutor's recommendation, not the sentence.

The Judge is not bound by the DoJ recommendation and will impose whatever sentence she thinks appropriate. Moreover, by all reports, Judge Jackson ain't stupid. She will see what has happened here.
