Corruption. This is an old Ted Talk, but still very relevant.

And still very maddening. Billions of dollars washing around between corrupt people all over the world, and we can't get fucking TESTS for a pandemic.

that they and their tools in government set up to enable the hoarding and hiding of wealth.

Global corruptors are getting identified, slowly but surely.

A good book that picks up where Gooch leaves off is Moneyland: The Inside Story of the Crooks and Kleptocrats Who Rule the World by Oliver Bullough (2019). It names names. Including enablers in the U.S.
