....press briefings and say "sit down and shut up, you fuckers, this is serious". Have you noticed that most of the emergency room doctors on the front lines, working to get us through this crisis, the one's being interviewed on television about the seriousness of this situation, are first generation Americans, people of color, oftentimes women. We're not surprised to see a woman, Muslim doctor wearing a hijab in our emergency rooms any more. It's not an exaggeration to say that most of the white, Anglo-Saxon, Protestant doctors, third and fourth generation in their family to go into medicine, do not go into emergency medicine or even primary care. That's fine. We need all kinds of doctors. But we should realize how lucky we are to are to have these recent IMMIGRANTS here to help us in the months to come.
