That was one of my observations when I first watched it.

(640 posts)That was cheesy as hell. And the over the top lyrics and use of slow mo everywhere! I think I went to Sizzler's maybe once with my family as a tween.

(195,553 posts)At least they sort of did.
This was about when Sizzler started in its downward trend.
We used to go. Not a lot of money and it WAS steak.

(7,779 posts)Look at any contemporary steakhouse ads today and the portions are twice as big. No wonder we're all so fat.
I feel better about my pictures from back then. Everyone had ridiculous hair.

(40,077 posts)I had big hair back then, too.
Can anyone imagine ever eating from a salad bar again after what weve been going through?

(195,553 posts)Ive just been trying to find a buffet that does curbside service.

(40,077 posts)Although once years ago when on vacation we stopped overnight in a town where a buffet was basically the only place to eat. Three teenage boys ... I think they were glad to see us go, probably lost money on us.

(38,930 posts)for my yearly physical thursday my cholesterol was the highest it has been in years. I never ate at
Sizzler but it looks good to me. That ad reminds me of the Morning in America ads RR ran for his second term.

(40,077 posts)They told me my cholesterol had gone up, too ... and Ive been on a low carb diet ... I was eating hard boiled eggs by the truckload thinking I was being so health conscious.
You just cant win....

(38,930 posts)eat my main meal at lunch time in a restaurant everyday. I have to start cooking regular meals instead of that fast food junk
or my diet will kill me. Trump has me on his diet.

(1,343 posts)What tv station or network was this played on in 91? Good lord, that was sure was a long commercial and frankly it would of been TV13 rated back then from all that kissing.....

Same layout and food on offer as the promo commercial.
I was younger then, and knew how to pick the most expensive buffet offerings, and pig out on that.
No wonder they went broke!
But for some reason, we only went several times, then lost interest. Miss the place though.

(622 posts)Small town, so nearest Sizzler was about 45 minutes away, which didnt seem odd to us because we drove more than an hour to buy shoes. Now maybe because the town that Sizzler was in was practically a city to me, but really was just a larger small town, but our Sizzler NEVER looked like that! Salad bar and potato fixings: thats it. But maybe the smaller population forced them to limit the options.
AND, A few of you know Im a poet but Ive started writing lyrics. The bands are all about keeping it under 3.30, which is over in a blink, so Ive gotta ask: How long WAS that commercial? I was starting to think it was A Very Special After School Movie!
underpants
(195,553 posts)Stock holder meetings. Employee meetings. Trade shows etc. it was also 5 minutes long b

(28,088 posts)Where everyone is that good looking I would assume that I had walked into the twilight zone or into a promo commercial.
