With barbershops and hair salons closed Americans are taking matters and scissors into their own hands. NBC News’ Sarah Harman reports on some DIY hairdos.

1. I don't allow clippers on my hair

If I did I don’t see the problem. They all look like the same haircut to me.

He hates the feel of it on his neck. I've been telling him I don't want to try to cut it. It won't go well.

7. I'm retired. I ignore my hair. I've gone really gray which is fine...

I couldn't cut my hair right at all. I leave it be til our hairdressers are open again...
