Brian Williams in his entry to the MSNBC show "The 11th Hour" was poignant and scary. It made it clear we have a president purposefully detached from reality even as it is all around him.

I used to be not quite sure about him, but his level of sarcasm gives me life.

2. Brian Williams' sarcasm has class and style--levels above the usual use of sarcasm we're exposed to.

I feel exactly the same way about him. I live for it, too. It took me awhile to recognize his overall quality, one that's impossible to imitate.

Those moments make him one of the best anchors on television.

Lawrence O'Donnell is the only other anchor who comes close, because of that twinkle in his eye, when he's sarcastic.

These two raise sarcasm to the level of rhetoric.
