Bit of an esoteric look back. There are some observations of what leaders at the time did, particularly Byzantine Emperor Justinian, that should be avoided.

to take the plague seriously made things much, much worse way back in the 14th century. Fortunately, 700 years of advancing civilization have since past so we no longer have to worry about such mismanagement and willful ignorance.

Am I right? I mean, except for WHO and Nancy Pelosi, right?
