Governor Cuomo Pandemic Update April 22 2020

This is no time to be stupid. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

We are not going to have people lose their life because we act imprudently. I'm not going to do it. That's not who we are.

Facts only. Don't be cocky. If you're not ready for the second wave that's the wave that will knock you down.

I have no problem with local officials blaming me.

The state laws govern. Local laws can't counter state laws.

"When the freedom they wished for most was freedom from responsibility, then they ceased to be free." Edith Hamilton/Edward Gibbon, The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

You have a responsibility to act prudently vis a vis other people. You're not just putting your own life at risk... you're risking others' lives, and you don't have that right. To advocate for total irresponsibility... no. Not here. Not now.

while he was giving his update, and wanted him to comment on them. I thought he was honest and tough, but very humane. He seems determined not to let such demonstrations change his mind about responsibly re-opening.

That's why I see him as the Explainer-In-Chief.

This seems to be a fairly widespread phenomenon here in NY. Putting strain on a lot of marriages, this guy!
