a live audience. I think he misses John, too. John is his amen corner. They seem close.

Since they both started in stand-up. Stephen said that it's like they're musicians and that the audience is their "instrument."

And he's said before that he's friends with Jon Batiste, often has him over for holidays. Last night when his wife made a appearance, she had a message for Jon, too. Not to mention that he's Stephen's best audience, he provides feedback on the show and a lot of it is cleverly musical. At least he appears every night, but it isn't the same.
