His naval career is over. He will stay Captain until he is passed over for promotion to Admiral (before the Covid incident probably close to a certainty). It's an absolute disgrace that an officer of his demonstrated capabilities and brilliant naval career winds up becoming an also-ran because a politician was covering his ass.
