Gov. Whitmer on Dam Failures: "..climate change is part of this.."

In all the coverage so far, nationally and locally, first mention
I've heard of the role of climate change.
Understand Washpost is working on a piece making this connection.

1. Climate change is a very small part of it. The main issue is a lack of maintenance, monitoring,

and oversight for tens of thousands of dams across the country. Dam regulations were updated a few years ago to require maintenance standards , planning for heavy rainfalls that could breach a dam, and establishing who is responsible for monitoring and repairing dams. Federal and state funding has been woefully inadequate.

2. Kudos to the governor!

When Rachel said "the governor really has her hands full" is putting it mildly! Despite dealing with numerous crises at home and attacks from the misogynist-in-chief, she's stepping up and getting the job done!
